Unique to other community development degrees across campuses and in the United States, the BS RE+CD curriculum bridges community development and business with the inclusion of real estate learning, capitalizing on Kansas State University’s strengths. The Master of Science in Community Development is an online graduate degree.Prospective graduate students who already hold a bachelor’s degree apply directly to their program of choice.Real Estate & Community Development students follow a four-year curriculum that does not include the common first year. Regional and Community Planning is an exception these students may take a non-studio option in their first year. After successful completion of the first year Environmental Design Studies, students pursue degree programs of their choice. This foundational year introduces the disciplines of APDesign and cultivates knowledge and skills for student success. Most freshmen and transfer students complete a Common First Year in Environmental Design Studies.On-campus degrees provide two different paths to master's degrees in five professional programs. APDesign offers both on-campus and online degrees. APDesign offers multiple paths into the professions of architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, industrial design, regional and community planning, and community development.
